As your Weld County Sheriff
- First law enforcement agency to place registered sex offenders on a sex offender Web site
- Worked with the state legislature to change the law regarding sex offender websites. Because of my efforts nearly all law enforcement agencies now have sex offenders listed on their webpage
- Created the “25 Most Wanted” on the Weld County Sheriff’s Office Webpage, which also runs once a month in the Greeley Tribune resulting in the capture of numerous fugitives and felons
- Reduced the crime rate by 50 percent since 2005
- Higher arrest rates
- Lowered by half response times to “priority one” calls
- Had the vision to create the Northern Colorado Regional Crime Lab
- Oversaw the creation and building of the Weld County Fallen Officer Memorial
- Created a School Resource Officer program
- Under my leadership the Sheriff’s Office solved the Mary Pierce homicide case
- Started the Victim Advocate program for Weld County
- Created a DUI Task Force amongst various Weld County Law Enforcement agencies
- Reduced the number of fatal accidents on Weld County Roads (93 in 2004 – 42 in 2012)
- Created a $500 scholarship for graduating Weld County High School Seniors
- Every year came in under budget and returned money to the general fund
