Endorsement — Ted Nugent

Weld County Sheriff John Cooke

He’s always had our backs. Now it’s time we have his.

Greetings from Ted Nugent,

I want you to meet a man I am proud to call my friend – Weld County Sheriff John Cooke.

Take a look at these pictures of Sheriff Cooke flanked by his fellow Colorado Sheriffs. Both were taken last year when he and other Colorado Sheriffs took on the Michael Bloomberg gun-grabbing agenda. Sheriff Cooke is a guy who doesn’t mess around when anyone threatens our Second Amendment rights.

Sheriff Cooke is one of those rare heroes with both courage and strong leadership skills. He went on national television and told Barack Obama and the gun grabbers that he wouldn’t do the president’s dirty work on gun control.

Last year he led a contingency of Colorado Sheriffs who testified against gun-grabbing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control bills in the Colorado State legislature.  The Governor of Colorado John Hickenlooper didn’t even have the guts to meet with him or the other elected sheriffs, but Gov. Hickenlooper did make time to talk with Bloomberg.

Sadly an urban-centric, progressive state legislature ignored those Sheriffs, as well as many other Coloradans, and passed Bloomberg’s bills. But Sheriff Cooke didn’t give up on our Second Amendment rights. He along with 54 of his fellow Colorado Sheriffs filed a lawsuit against the Governor over these unenforceable, unconstitutional gun control bills.

He also worked to rally grassroots activists for recall efforts against the Colorado State Senators who voted to disarm women on college campuses and to limit how many rounds Coloradans may use to defend their families.  He has spoken with tens of thousands of Coloradans who support him and his fight to preserve our Second Amendment rights.

Sheriff Cooke has enormous respect for the rule of law and the Constitution. That’s why he took his battle to court with the lawsuit against the Governor, and he announced he is taking his fight to the state capitol. John is term limited as Sheriff in 2014 and decided that he must continue the battle in the Colorado State Senate.

John Cooke is the candidate I support for Colorado State Senate District 13 so he can be a voice of the people, a voice of those who believe they have a right to defend themselves, their families, and their properties.

What happens in Colorado matters. It is ground zero for NYC Mayor Bloomberg and his gun-grabbing acolytes. If we lose our Second Amendment rights in Colorado, Bloomberg and company will feel emboldened. What they can’t get accomplished in Washington, D.C. they will try to get in every state from Florida to Maine, Arizona to Montana. Mark my words; your community is next.

Sheriff Cooke needs your help to become State Senator John Cooke to represent the great citizens of the Colorado SD 13 and be a voice for Second Amendment supporters everywhere.

I hope that Sheriff Cooke and I can count on your support to save Colorado and America. Please consider investing $25, $50, $100, or more (maximum of $400 per person) in John Cooke’s campaign for SD 13. You can contribute online at his Web site CookeforColoradoSD13.com or by mail to Cooke for Colorado SD 13, P.O. Box 337494, Greeley, CO 80633.

Another way you can show your support is to “like” both his candidate’s Facebook page and his Sheriff’s page, follow him on Twitter, and share it with all your friends.

When it comes to our Second Amendment rights, Sheriff Cooke has demonstrated repeatedly that he has our backs. Now it’s time we show that we have his. I hope you will join me to ensure that this great American can continue fighting for all us at the Colorado State Capitol.

Don’t Tread on Me, Sincerely….
